Why does Thock need Input Monitoring?
macOS only lets an app react to your keystrokes with the Input Monitoring permission. Thock uses it read-only, to know which key moved so it can pick and place the right sound. It never reads, stores or sends what you type.
No sound when I type?
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Input Monitoring and turn on Thock. If Thock is already listed, remove it with the minus button, add it again, then relaunch Thock.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay $4.99 once and Thock is yours, with every future update included for free.
Which Macs does it run on?

Where do the sounds come from?
They are real recordings from the open-source Mechvibes project. Thock splits each one into a press and a release sound for every key, lined up to start 2 ms before the impact.
Can I add my own sounds?
Yes. In Thock’s settings, open the packs folder and drop in a converted pack folder (pack.json and a sounds folder).
